One way that SGAC is incredibly successful in changing policy around HIV and AIDS is by building relationships with our representatives and senators at their in-district offices. Your legislators are accountable to you, and they like to hear what is important to their constituents.
The way to be most effective is to have monthly meetings with your legislator's office. Get a group of friends together, make an appointment, and go talk to them about why funding extremely successful programs like PEPFAR and the Global Fund is important to you. It's ok to meet with an office if you aren't a constituent, but make sure that you have constituents with you.
