Yale students published an op-ed in the Yale Daily News, explaining why they protested the President. Read the original op-ed here.
Here's a bit of it:
On Saturday, October 30, about a dozen Yalies joined forces with Harvard students to protest at the President’s rally for democratic candidate Jim Himes in Bridgeport, CT. Why would Yale and Harvard undergraduate and Public Health students protest against an administration which, by and large, we are hoping will be re-elected in two years? The concern is simple, but of enormous import: This is a pivotal time in the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. The U.S. has the opportunity to radically alter its future course both through its own contributions and by setting the bar high for other countries to follow. However, since assuming the presidency, President Obama has neglected the pandemic and failed to live up to the promises he made during his 2008 campaign.
